A Room Within a Room
The multipurpose living room has three focal points for activity. The first is the east end, where a fourteen-foot window seat runs the width of the room. The window wall wraps around the north and south corners of the room, creating a sense that nature is enveloping the space. The casement windows, when open, reinforce that effect by letting in the sights, sounds, and smells of the world outdoors. On summer mornings, reflections from the pool stream across the cantilevered overhang and onto the living-room ceiling. next page >
