Almost all works of art are delicate in nature. Museums strive to provide the most stable, hospitable environment for both its art and its patrons. Even with these efforts, the natural deterioration of older works of art requires the Institute to invest in the cleaning, restoration and repair of a number of its great works each year. You may examine a selection of the works recently restored by selecting one of the paintings above.
