Nature has always proved an inspiration for artists of all media. In this exhibition, Scandinavian and American textile designers have drawn on the aesthetic sensibilities inherent in a range of artistic styles, from the modernist movement to the emotional power of ethnographic art forms. Focusing on the leaf form, from bamboo to coffee plants, these 20th-century designers have worked with a variety of textile producers from high-tech Swiss mills to hand-weavers in Thailand to express the power and diversity inherent in nature.
