This installation highlights more than a dozen contemporary craft objects from the MIA's collection, dating from the 1980s to the present. Many were gifts to the museum, chosen to represent the continuing innovations in various mediums. Prominent artists in areas of strength for the MIA—from ceramic to wood and fiber—are featured, including as Sheila Hicks, Mark Lindquist, and Karen Karnes.
