This is the first exhibition at The Minneapolis Institute of Arts of this internationally important documentary photographer, whose work became part of the permanent collection in 1986. In April 2001, two portfolios featuring Lyon's images from the Civil Rights Movement (1962-64) and his 1965 project "Uptown" were added to the Institute's permanent collection.
