U. S. Bank Gallery

One hundred porcelains, each made specifically for the Chinese court and bearing an imperial reign mark will be the focus of this extraordinarily beautiful exhibition. Drawn from one of the world's finest private Chinese collections of Qing dynasty imperial ware, the show focuses entirely on court porcelain of the Kangxi (1662-1722), Yongzheng (1723-1735) and Qianglong (1736-1795) reigns. These imperial reigns are considered to be among the most creative and technically accomplished periods in ceramic history. The exhibit features exceptional monochromatic porcelains of gem-like purity, stunning blue-and-white vessels full of imperial dragon imagery, and a dazzling overview of brightly decorated, polychrome wares.

A fully illustrated catalogue by Julian Thompson accompanies the exhibition.

Organized by The Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
