Drawn from one of the world's finest private Chinese collections of Qing dynasty imperial ware, the show focuses entirely on court porcelain of the Kangxi (1662-1722), Yongzheng (1723-1735) and Qianglong (1736-1795) reigns. These imperial reigns are considered to be among the most creative and technically accomplished periods in ceramic history. The exhibit features exceptional monochromatic porcelains of gem-like purity, stunning blue-and-white vessels full of imperial dragon imagery, and a dazzling overview of brightly decorated, polychrome wares. |
